Abstract
Optical constants (the refractive index n, the absorption index k and the absorption coefficient (alpha) of Ge40-Sb5-S35 thin films with dif ferent film thicknesses were determined in the wavelength range 400-23 00 nm. The dependence of the absorption coefficient a on the photon en ergy hy was computed. Analysis of the absorption spectrum leads to opt ical direct transitions E(gd) and optical indirect transitions E(gi).
