Abstract
The first demonstration of a passive vertical antires, reflecting opti cal waveguide (ARROW) realised in AlGaAs/GaAs material system is repor ted. Losses of 2 cm for the TE- and 3.5 dB/cm for the TM-ARROW n were obtained at a wavelength of 0.83 mum for samples 4 mum-wide ridges.
