The utility of on-line liquid chromatography coupled to UV diode array
detection and atmospheric pressure chemical ionization mass spectrome
try for the analysis of microsomal metabolites of felodipine has been
investigated. A previously unreported metabolite of felodipine, extrac
ted from male rat microsomes, has been detected using this technique.
UV diode array detection has been used to characterize this metabolite
as a dihydropyridine metabolite and tandem mass spectrometry data use
d to assign a structure.
