Mc. Terron et al., PYROLYSIS-GAS CHROMATOGRAPHY MASS-SPECTROMETRY OF LIGNIN FROM PAPER-INDUSTRY EFFLUENTS DECOLORIZED BY TRAMETES-VERSICOLOR, Rapid communications in mass spectrometry, 7(7), 1993, pp. 659-661
The pyrolysis/gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (PY/GC/MS) results
after fungal treatment of paper-industry effluents suggested a decreas
e of the relative amounts of lignin pyrolysis products and of the syri
ngyl/guaiacyl ratio, in addition to some oxidation rate of the C3-alky
l chain in lignin units. The results obtained pointed to the potential
of PY/GC/MS for monitoring the extent of fungal modification of ligni
ns by biological systems based on the use of Trametes versicolor.
