Abstract
The 3-dimensional domain with strong energy dissipation (above a certa in threshold) in isotropic turbulence is displayed using a 3D generali zed binomial Cantor set model, which is in itself a multifractal. This artificially made display simulates the corresponding domain of a rea lization of isotropic turbulence by direct numerical simulation so wel l that we may be convinced that all dissipative regions in real turbul ence form the multifractal designated by this model, and that the doma in surface has a fractal dimension corresponding to the threshold valu e.
