Abstract
N-15 NMR measurements on the title compound (1,8-bis(dimethylamino)nap hthalene, DMAN) and its protonated derivative, show the presence of an unsymmetrical [N-H-N](4) structure in the protonated form. This concl usion is reached from a consideration both of the nitrogen shieldings and of the (1)J(N-15-H-1) results observed.
