Abstract
Data for beam, global horizontal, and global normal radiation measured at Cape Canaveral were analyzed for the period 1986-1991. Some empiri cal correlations between these parameters are proposed. A detailed ana lysis of the beam irradiance data also led to the derivation of sunshi ne fractions corresponding to different radiation thresholds. It is sh own that the current WMO threshold of 120 W/m2 Corresponds to optimal radiation/sunshine correlations. Finally, improved monthly irradiation empirical fits using sunshine data are proposed.
