Abstract
There is a need to develop a suitably charged thermostatic expansion v alve to work with systems charged with HFC134a. The conventional CFC12 cross-charged valve does work, but with a slight loss of superheat se nsitivity. A pure HFC134a charged valve lacks a constant superheat ove r a range of evaporator temperatures, and may require a smaller orific e size than the conventional cross-charged valve.
