Abstract
The processing of most types of secondary fibre requires chemicals, de pending on the deinking process or quality of the furnish. The propose d enzymatic deinking process requires no chemicals for treating diffic ult waste papers such as laser and xerographic grades. Alkaline cellul ase effectively deinked and enhanced the brightness and cleanliness of the pulp. Additional benefits include improved pulp drainage accompan ied by a significant improvement in paper physical strength properties .
