A case of an elderly man with a large facial ulcer is reported. The di
agnosis of Wegener's granulomatosis was made at post-mortem when evide
nce of a granulomatous vasculitis was found in both the skin and lungs
. This case serves to illustrate the difficulty in making the diagnosi
s of Wegener's granulomatosis, especially when it presents in its 'lim
ited' form.
