Kg. Furton et al., RECENT ADVANCES IN THE ANALYSIS OF POLYCYCLIC AROMATIC-HYDROCARBONS AND FULLERENES, Journal of chromatography, 642(1-2), 1993, pp. 33-45
This paper highlights advances which have occurred in the last three y
ears related to the analysis of Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs
) and fullerenes by chromatographic and related techniques. The techni
ques reviewed include sample preparation, supercritical fluid ''tracti
on (SFE), gas chromatography, liquid chromatography, supercritical flu
id chromatography, thin-layer chromatography and micellar electrokinet
ic capillary chromatography. Some of the most significant advances hav
e occurred in the area of sample preparation, including the increased
adoption of solid-phase extraction, supercritical fluid extraction, hy
phenated chromatographic methods (e.g. LC-LC, LC-GC, etc.) and the chr
omatographic separation of fullerenes which did not exist on a macrosc
opic scale three years ago.
