LAPAROSCOPIC OVARIOPEXY FOR PEDIATRIC PELVIC MALIGNANCIES

Ovariopexy can prevent radiation damage to the ovaries in children und ergoing pelvic irradiation, and should be considered prior to radical curative radiotherapy. We report two children who have had successful laparoscopic ovariopexy, and advocate its use in conjunction with loca l radiotherapy in childhood malignancy. It reduces iatrogenic trauma s ignificantly and assists with staging and managing paediatric pelvic m alignancies.
