Abstract
ECD-GC, NP-FID-GC and GC/MS assay which make it possible to concurrent ly determine oxadiazon and its metabolites (phenol, mehoxy, acid and a lcohol forms) in pond snails (collected in the Yodo River) and blue mu ssels (collected in the Osaka Bay) were developed. These assays were u sed to determine oxadiazon and its four metabolites in pond snails and blue mussels collected during the season in which oxadiazon is used. Oxadiazon (0.59-1.26 ppm) and its acid form (2.09-4.80 ppm) were detec ted in both pond snails and blue mussels. The concentration of the aci d form was 3.41-6.48 times higher than that of oxadiazon in both pond snails and blue mussels. Oxadiazon and its acid form detected were ide ntified by GC/MS.
