Abstract
The dosimetric properties of GR200F LiF:Mg,Cu,P detectors with 5 mg.cm -2 sensitive layers have been studied for applications in extremity do simetry. These properties included batch homogeneity, minimum detectab le dose, reproducibility, residual signals, fading characteristics, li nearity of response, effect of light exposure, photon energy and angul ar responses, and beta energy and angular responses. It was found that they are acceptable for extremity dosimetry. In particular, if used i n conjunction with an extremity dosemeter holder with a window thickne ss. of approximately 4 mg.cm-2, this detector can measure accurately t he tissue dose at 7 mg.cm-2 delivered by low energy beta emitters such as Pm-147.
