Abstract
Extremity and neutron individual monitoring in Brazil is carried out b y the Instituto de Radioprotecao e Dosimetria (IRD/CNEN). The techniqu e utilised is thermoluminescence dosimetry. For extremity individual m onitoring IRD uses a very simple ring dosemeter manufactured at the In stitute. At present about 500 workers are monitored monthly in the fie lds of research, industry and medicine. For neutron individual monitor ing, IRD uses the albedo technique. About 200 workers are monitored mo nthly with albedo dosemeters in the fields of research and industry.
