Abstract
Green's functions for steady-state, one-dimensional heat conduction fo r discretely inhomogeneous media are found by using an interactive pri nciple. Exact solutions can therefore be expressed by Green's represen tation. An unsteady problem is solved numerically by treating the time derivative as a source term. The results demonstrate accuracy, stabil ity, and efficiency.
