L. Murray et al., ISOPALINURIN - A MILD PROTEIN PHOSPHATASE INHIBITOR FROM A SOUTHERN AUSTRALIAN MARINE SPONGE, DYSIDEA SP, Australian Journal of Chemistry, 46(8), 1993, pp. 1291-1294
A new sesterterpene tetronic acid, isopalinurin (1), has been isolated
from an Australian marine sponge, Dysidea sp., collected in Bass Stra
it. Isopalinurin (1) was identified as the agent responsible for the a
ntibiotic activity and protein phosphatase inhibitory properties exhib
ited by the crude ethanol extract, and its structure was secured by de
tailed spectroscopic analysis.
