J. Monteseirin et al., PLASMA KALLIKREIN AMIDOLYTIC ACTIVITY IN PATIENTS WITH URTICARIA, Journal of investigational allergology & clinical immunology, 3(3), 1993, pp. 142-145
We have studied the plasma kallikrein amidolytic activity in healthy c
ontrol subjects (inactive), patients with chronic urticaria (active) a
nd patients with acute urticana (active) from their admission to the e
mergency room (active) to the time after which their clinical symptoma
tology had disappeared (inactive). We found statistically significant
differences (p < 0.01) in the active groups of urticaria patients. Thi
s leads us to believe that kallikrein participates in the development
of symptomatology in these patients.
