C. Charrueau et al., OROPHARYNGEAL DECONTAMINATION - BIOADHESIVE POWDER MIXTURE FORMULATION .1. CHOICE OF THE BIOADHESIVE MATERIAL, Journal of controlled release, 26(1), 1993, pp. 49-57
The aim of this study was to improve the administration form of the or
opharyngeal decontaminating mixture manufactured at the ''Pharmacie Ce
ntrale des Hopitaux de Paris''. Five tests (slide, Nogami apparatus, t
ablet, coagulation automator and in vitro bioadhesion) were carried ou
t with 19 products with the aim of selecting the product best fitted t
o the administration form: a powder dispersed in the buccal cavity, bi
oadhesive in situ, and forming a gel with saliva. Natrosol 250 HHX Pha
rm(R) (H.E.C.) was chosen for its wetting and bioadhesive properties a
s well as its gelation rate.
