T. Oyama et al., SYNTHESIS OF CR-TI BINARY OXIDE PARTICLES BY THE LASER-INDUCED CHAIN-REACTION AND ITS CRYSTAL-STRUCTURE, Nippon kagaku kaishi, (7), 1993, pp. 825-830
Single phase crystalline fine particles of the (Cr1-xTix)2O3 solid sol
ution have been synthesized by vapor-phase explosive reaction of CrO2C
l2-TiCl4-H2 system ignited by a single laser pulse. The distribution o
f particle size was uniform with a mean particle size of 35nm. Lattice
constants of the (Cr1-xTix)2O3 have been determined accurately by the
Whole-powder-pattern decomposition (WPPD) method. The axes lengths of
the hexagonal unit cell of the oxide increase linearly with increasin
g Ti mole fraction x. The c axis of (Cr1-xTix)2O3 has larger expansion
than the a axis. The crystal structure of the (Cr1-xTi-x)2O3 was stud
ied by the Rietveld analysis.
