WIDE-RANGE AUTOMATED FIELD SPECTROMETER SPECTROCOMPARATOR

This paper describes a field spectrometer-spectrocomparator for the 0. 4-2.5-mum interval with a spectral resolution of 4-21 nm and a built-i n microprocessor that provides automatic operation and recording of da ta in digital form on magnetic tape. The paper discusses the optical a nd electrical portions of the instrument and the spectral characterist ics of the comparison samples made for the instrument from etched alum inum and ceramic on an aluminum substrate, which are stable to climati c effects, and shows the reflection spectra of desert soils measured b y means of the instrument.
