Abstract
The effect of calcination temperature on the catalytic behavior of Na ZSM-5 for the conversion of ethanol has been studied. The selectivity for acetaldehyde is shown to increase with the increase of calcination temperature in the range of 823-1273 K. Calcination of the catalyst a t 1273 K improves the selectivity of acetaldehyde up to 80% at 623-673 K. The active site for ethanol dehydrogenation is discussed.
