Abstract
Angiotensin affects the growth of many cells types and there have been suggestions that it could influence cells which respond to erythropoi etin. During first trimester, human fetal haematopoietic cells are exq uisitely responsive to erythropoietin and we have assessed the potenti al for angiotensin to also influence the growth of these types in a st andard culture system. The data obtained from these studies indicated that angiotensin does not influence fetal haematopoiesis over a range of concentrations.
