Abstract
A number of network operators and suppliers have collaborated in the f ull services access network (FSAN) initiative to agree on a common set of requirements for broadband networks. The results of the initial ph ase of their work were presented at the FSAN conference held in London in 1996. This article presents the OA&M requirements that have been c onsidered by the OA&M working group with a view to reducing equipment and operational costs.
