Gs. Howard, IS THE SCIENTIFIC COMMUNITY READY TO EXPERIMENT WITH PRACTICE METHODOLOGIES, Professional psychology, research and practice, 24(3), 1993, pp. 254-255
The inherent superiority of qualitative methodologies was not intended
to be conveyed in ''I Think I Can! I Think I Can! Reconsidering a Pla
ce for Practice Methodologies in Psychological Research'' (Howard, 199
3). Rather, the point is that practice methodologies are not inherentl
y inferior to traditional methods. Respondents argued stronger positio
ns for practice methodologies than originally presented in some cases,
but still worry about the quality of nontraditional methods. It appea
rs that the answer to whether the scientific community is ready to exp
eriment with practice methodologies may finally be ''yes.''
