Abstract
The first sublimable monomeric yttrium ''CH-alkoxide'' Y[OC(iPr)(tBu)2 ]3 (3) is obtained by the reaction of ''CH-alcohol'' HOCiPr(tBu)2 (''H -proditox'', 1) with Y[N(SiMe3)2]3 (2). The importance of metal-ion si ze and ligand sphere for nucleation is demonstrated for the system ''L n/ditox/acetonitrile''. The crystal structure data of dimeric 4 (Ln = Nd) and monomeric 5 (Ln = Dy) once again support the ionic nature of l anthanide alkoxide complexes.
