Abstract
Experts gathered for two days in the summer of 1992 at the National In stitutes of Health and the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research to d iscuss the potential of a major merozoite surface protein (MSP-1) in m alaria vaccine development. The participants came in an exemplary spir it of co-operation, sharing ideas and unpublished data toward the comm on goal of a malaria vaccine. Their conclusions are presented here by Carter Diggs, Ripley Ballou and Lou Miller.
