Rovibrational transitions of OC-HF and N2-HF have been measured using
vibrational predissociation spectroscopy in a molecular beam apparatus
with a color-center laser. Analysis of the laser fluence dependence i
n the saturation limit yields vibrational transition moments of 0.139
(6) and 0.091 (5) D for the HF subunit in OC-HF and N2-HF, respectivel
y. These values are compared with other molecular properties associate
d with the two binary complexes to characterize the role of the hydrog
en bond.
