A NOTE ON HOMOGENIZATION OF BINGHAM FLOW-THROUGH A POROUS-MEDIUM

Homogenization of Bingham flow through a porous medium was considered in the paper J. L. Lions, E. Sanchez-Palencia: ''Ecoulement d'un fluid e viscoplastique de Bingham dans un milieu poreux'', J. Math. pures et appl., 60, 1981, pp. 341-460, where the modelling and the formal expa nsion are presented. However the convergence of the homogenization pro cess was left as an open problem. Here we address this issue and prove the convergence of the process. Thus their result is not only formal. We use monotonicity methods coupled with the recently developed notio n of two-scale convergence.
