Abstract
The form of directional derivative of the metric projection in the Sob olev space H-0(2)2 (OMEGA) onto the convex set K = {f is-an-element-of H-0(2)(OMEGA)\f greater-than-or-equal-to psi} is derived in[14]. In t he present paper the result is used to obtain the first order optimali ty conditions for a class of nonsmooth optimal design problems for the Kirchhoff plate with an obstacle.
