Abstract
A molecular resolution image of lignoceric acid monolayer, which was p repared on the water surface at a subphase temperature of 293 K and tr ansferred onto a mica substrate, was successfully observed with an ato mic force microscope(AFM) for the first time. The AFM image of the mon olayer showed two-dimensional regular array with locally disordered mo lecular arrangements.
