DISSEMINATING THE PARTNERSHIP - THE PEW MEMORIAL TRUST STATE-UNIVERSITY COLLABORATION PROJECT

This paper describes a collaborative project funded by the Pew Memoria l Trust to help state mental health authorities and psychiatry trainin g programs cooperate in producing psychiatrists interested in working in public sector hospitals and mental health clinics. Several national organizations participated in establishing the project, which is join tly managed by the American Psychiatric Association and the National A ssociation of State Mental Health Program Directors. The authors descr ibe the project's workshops and follow-up consultation processes and c omment on its impact.
