APPLICATION OF THE GERMAN OPERATIONAL EME RGENCIES ORDINANCE IN THE WOOD INDUSTRY

The applicability of the German Operational Emergencies Ordinance is d escribed in various supplements to the regulations. Due to the fact th at in the last Amendment to the Ordinance in 1991 the materials catalo gue has been extended to include ''explosive dust/air mixtures'' the O perational Emergencies Ordinance now also apply to the particleboard a nd fibreboard industry. Although e.g. no safety analyses are required, certain basic obligations have to be met, entailing safety measures ( e.g. as regards fire and explosion protection) which have to be kept u p to date. These obligations constitute a direct consequence of the Ge rman Operational Emergencies Ordinance without special directions by I ndustrial Supervising Boards.
