Ethnological objects in magazines of museums are often treated with bi
ocide substances against insect or fungal attacks. The Bremer Umweltin
stitut analysed the indoor air and the indoor dust from the magazine o
f the Uberseemuseum Bremen for these substances. Many treatments with
such substances were done during the fifties, sixties and seventies. T
he question is, which of these substances are still detectable. The fo
llowing contribution shows the result of this investigation. Probably
this problem is interesting for other museums too.
