Tl. Dixon et Lh. Sibul, WIDE-BAND IMAGING AND PARAMETER-ESTIMATION OF DISTRIBUTED OBJECTS USING THE CONTINUOUS WAVELET TRANSFORM, Signal processing, 54(3), 1996, pp. 207-223
In this paper, wavelet transforms and wideband processing techniques a
re used to actively image a continuously distributed object. This pape
r shows that a useful estimate of the wideband spreading function (WBS
F) can be obtained by operating on a noisy received signal with the wa
velet transform. Wavelet estimates of the WBSF of a rough, rotating sp
here are formed by processing simulated echoes. A new and unique algor
ithm is developed to estimate the physical parameters of a distributed
object by combining information from several noisy wavelet transform
estimates of its WBSF. A computer simulation is performed and results
are presented to demonstrate the effectiveness of this technique.
