Abstract
In this study, concentrated propionic acid was obtained by electro-ele ctrodialysis and electrodialysis with bipolar membranes of a fermentat ion broth. The current efficiency was high but decreased with time, es pecially with bipolar membranes. The presence of inorganic ions led to the formation of other acids.
