Abstract
A method is described for the determination of ethephon in pesticide f ormulations. The method uses headspace gas chromatography to determine ethylene formed from the decomposition of ethephon by the addition of base. Method performance with respect to linearity and precision was evaluated. Results from analyses of various pesticide formulations wer e compared with results obtained by using the official titrimetric met hod. The usefulness of the method was demonstrated for formulation con trol.
