Abstract
The stereocilia and luminal border of epididymal epithelium showed mod erate PAS-positive reaction in caput and cauda region, while activity was mild in corpus region. The basal cells except vacuolated ones, wer e intensely PAS reactive in all the 3 regions of epididymidis in camel . Saliva treatment failed to reduce the intensity of staining in all t he areas. The glycogen was absent in epithelium throughout the length of epididymidis. Small oil red 0 and sudanophilic lipid droplets were seen scattered throughout the cytoplasm of epithelial cells in all the regions. The basal cells showed coarse lipid droplets. The alkaline p hosphatase activity could be located in stereocilia and apical border of columnar cells, basal lumina and tunica muscularis, while acid phos phatase was only epithelial in location in all the regions of duct.
