In spite of significant advances in the development of behavioral and
pharmacologic strategies for the treatment of obsessive compulsive dis
order, little is known about the comparative efficacy and safety of th
ose treatments. In addition, questions about the dose and duration in
maintenance treatment remain unknown. This article reviews current iss
ues in the pharmacologic management of patients with obsessive compuls
ive disorder.
