C. Brewster et Drm. Schwab, REHABILITATION OF THE SHOULDER FOLLOWING ROTATOR CUFF INJURY OR SURGERY, The Journal of orthopaedic and sports physical therapy, 18(2), 1993, pp. 422-426
Rotator cuff problems are encountered frequently and must be rehabilit
ated precisely. The pace and intensity of the program are regulated by
the degree of pathology and the patient's activity requirements. As o
ur ability to understand the biomechanics of shoulder motion improves,
we realize that many rotator cuff problems are secondary to instabili
ty. This instability can be subtle. The following article details a re
habilitative program for patients with rotator cuff pathology and incl
udes both conservative and postoperative programs for pathology second
ary to instability as well as primary impingement.
