We describe a scheme for a fast trigger based on muon detection to be
implemented in a fixed target high energy experiment aiming to measure
CP violation in B-decays. Muons are tracked in resistive plate counte
rs and their momenta are measured by a trigger system based on a passi
ve resistive network. The goal is to build a very fast, selective and
efficient first level trigger for high p(T) muons coming from B-decays
, ensuring at the same time a substantial (greater-than-or-equal-to 10
0) reduction factor against muons coming from the decays of particles
produced in minimum bias interactions.
