Abstract
We applied the profile iterative method proposed by Van Ulden and Holt slag to the Ravenna industrial area, in order to evaluate the Monin-Ob ukhov length scale from simple meteorological data and with the purpos e of making a stability classification using the similarity Theory now accessible for air pollution models. Moreover, we investigated the re lationship between the Monin-Obukhov length and Pasquill-Gifford stabi lity classes, comparing our results with those of Golder who defined a correspondence for a wide range of terrain roughness values.
