Abstract
Small angle neutron scattering (SANS) measurements have been carried o ut on amorphous Tb67Zr33 containing hydrogen. A zero-field cooled samp le is studied at room temperature in the paramagnetic state and at low temperature in the magnetically ordered state. Nuclear medium range o rder (MRO) is observed and is consistent with a variation of sample co mposition and a local variation of the amount of hydrogen trapped in t he sample. Magnetic MRO correlated with nuclear MRO displays weak vari ations over large distances (approximately 10(2) nm) and a strong loca l variation (approximately 2 nm). A comparison is made between the SAN S results and the characteristic magnetic temperatures as obtained fro m classical magnetic measurements for Tb67Zr33 and Tb65Cu35 amorphous alloys.
