Rf. Henry et Ra. Walters, GEOMETRICALLY BASED, AUTOMATIC GENERATOR FOR IRREGULAR TRIANGULAR NETWORKS, Communications in numerical methods in engineering, 9(7), 1993, pp. 555-566
The network generation method described herein produces two-dimensiona
l irregular triangular grids in which element area is proportional to
some scalar density function defined over the domain. This density fun
ction can reflect arbitrarily chosen properties of the geometry or flo
w. After the initial generation, various adjustment utilities and an i
nteractive (graphic-based) editor ensures that the resultant triangula
r elements are well shaped. Some of these utilities can be used with a
daptive refinement schemes.
