Abstract
Remelting by electron bombardment is frequently used to elaborate tita nium alloys. In order to represent the thermal behavior of the remelte d ingot, a mathematical model was used. It calculates, during remeltin g, the temperature field in the ingot, the profile of the molten steel pool, the overall heat balance and metal losses through evaporation. The results of melting simulations are presented and discussed.
