Abstract
Calf augmentation has been standardized by the use of banana-shaped si licone gel implants for almost 20 years. Capsule formation and resulti ng distignement, dislocation, gel bleeding, and implant rupture are ra re but unpleasant complications. A new implant of solid silicone (McGh an, Santa Barbara, CA, USA) in the anatomical shape of one belly of th e M. gastrocnemius placed subfascially appears to overcome these probl ems.
