This article gives an account of the major curriculum revision of the
master's degree program recently undertaken by the Universite de Montr
eal School of Library and Information Studies. First steps included th
e adoption of guiding principles along with a theoretical framework. S
tudies were then conducted within the different facets of the operatio
n: evaluation, reconstruction, administrative processes, and the struc
turing of mechanisms for continuing evaluation. Presented here is the
general outline of the revised program along with aspects related to i
ts implementation. The paper conclude with comments on the positive ef
fects of the revision within the school, as well as within the univers
ity and the profession.
