In this paper the well-known Method of Moments (MoM) is combined with
the Generalized Multipole Technique (GMT) to analyze electromagnetic s
cattering problems. The proposed hybrid method GMT-MoM improves the re
sults obtained by GMT and reduces the computational effort in comparis
on with conventional MoM techniques. Current density distributions hav
e been obtained for a two dimensional scatterer illuminated by either
a TM or TE near field source, showing the accuracy and effectiveness o
f this hybrid approach.
