Abstract
Based on the analysis of motion of a three-point bend (3PB) specimen, differential equations to solve for the bending moment in the crack cr oss-section for single- and three-point bending were obtained. The val ue of the bending moment (or the stress intensity factor) during testi ng was obtained from these equations. The time delay of signals, which registered the forces on the hammer and supports, was analyzed. A goo d agreement between the theoretical and experimental results was obser ved.
