Abstract
1H-Benzimidazoles, 1H-imidazo[4,5-b]pyridines, and 1H-imidazo[4,5-c]-p yridines can be synthesized readily by reaction of unisolated N-(1-chl oro-alkyl)pyridinium chlorides with 1,2-benzenediamines, 2,3-pyridined iamine, and 3,4-pyridinediamine respectively.
